The Manifesto for Better Architectural and Urban Design.

We believe the unique character of North Staffordshire’s built environment is a valuable asset in redevelopment and regeneration. We recognise that good urban design and architecture is essential to enhance our city centre, towns, streets, buildings and places, and for successful regeneration.

We will:

insist on high quality design in all development

reject designs that do not enhance the built environment

use best practice methods for planning, urban design and architecture

work with the community and partners in the public and private sectors to plan development so it benefits everyone

provide architecture of high quality

provide design training to raise the skill levels of everyone who makes decisions about new development.

We believe this manifesto will create the confidence to invest in good urban design and architecture. This will support North Staffordshire's regeneration and help to achieve our goal of sustainable communities.
