Approaches to Placemaking.
The forthcoming Approaches to Placemaking programme will focus on promoting the Building For Life standard and the Manual for Streets as key tools for designing liveable places and for assessing the quality of designed environments. The programme will comprise three practical workshops and two inspirational visits to exemplary built schemes, for professionals designing homes or the public realm, and for local authorities implementing planning and highways standards and making decisions regarding residential developments and street enhancement proposals. The programme aims to expand understanding of BFL and MFS across the West Midlands, and to facilitate their wider application by local authorities.
